Note: The legally authoritative version is the German version; other language versions are non-binding service translations. In case of doubt, the German version prevails.
You can delete your account with Strido, the video coaching app for equestrian sport, yourself at any time, in the app or in a browser. The provider is Strido (Heinrich Mergel, Pavlo Lobariev); the complete details can be found in the Legal Notice.
1. How to delete your account
- In the app: Profile → Account → “Delete this account”, then confirm with “Delete permanently”.
- In a browser: sign in at app.strido.net/preferences/account, choose “Delete account” and confirm with “Delete permanently”.
- Account on the waitlist: in the app and in a browser, “Delete account” is on the start page next to “Sign out”.
Deletion in the app or in a browser is immediate and cannot be undone. Upcoming sessions are cancelled.
Lost access to your account? Email support@strido.net and give your account’s email address. We check that the request comes from the account holder and then delete the account within one month.
2. What is deleted
- your profile (name, email address, profile picture) and your sign-in account
- your public trainer profile, if you created one
- the videos you uploaded, including other people’s comments on them; recordings of live coaching sessions you booked as a student also disappear from the app
- training plans written for you, and your drafts that were not sent yet
- your group memberships, notifications, devices registered for push notifications and the feedback you sent us in the app
- your availability and blocked times
3. What is kept
- Comments you left on other people’s videos are kept but no longer show your name, so the replies to them aren’t lost.
- Booked sessions remain in your trainer’s or student’s history, including the notes and cancellation reasons you wrote for them. Recordings of live coaching sessions you gave as a trainer stay with your students.
- The original files of live coaching recordings are kept in our cloud storage at Google Cloud (EU), even when the recording has been deleted in the app.
- Training plans you wrote and sent to others stay with their recipients; plans still open are closed. Exercises and templates you created in a group stay with the group.
- A group you created stays in place for its members, so they keep their videos. Invitations and invite codes you handed out stay valid.
- Notifications that others have already received may still contain your name.
- If you or your content were reported, the report stays with moderation, with your name at the time and the reported content, so that deleting an account is no way out of moderation. Reports you made yourself are kept in the app without your name.
- Emails to our support and messages sent through the contact form are not deleted automatically with the account. Feedback, reports and support requests are also mirrored into access-restricted channels of our team chat (Discord); these copies are kept as well, including your name. We delete them on request to support@strido.net.
- A pseudonymous identifier without name or email address remains in moderation records and audit records; audit records are deleted after 13 months at the latest.
- Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.
Your videos at the video service Mux and your sign-in account at WorkOS are removed automatically shortly after the deletion. Backups of our database still contain your data for up to seven days; after that, these backups are overwritten.
You can read more about how we process your data in our Privacy Policy.
